I'm a Certified Feline Training and Behavior Specialist.

I didn't always like cats. I thought they were weird, unreadable, and just made me sneeze. But when a tabby cat named Calypso came into my life, it was love at first sight.

I started learning everything I could about cats and began to realize that they're not weird. They're just unique. Once you start to think like a cat and understand their needs, cat behaviors make sense. I began pursuing further education to become a cat behavior consultant so I could help others understand how to help their cats meet their needs.

In addition to the feline-specific courses I have taken and an apprenticeship with a Certified Cat Behavior Consultant, I also draw on my general knowledge of animal behavior. For 10+ years, I have worked in zoos, environmental learning centers, and museums with wild animals. Whether you're training a monkey or an owl, a porcupine or a cat, the principles of behavior change are the same across species. In my training, I prioritize the animal's emotional well-being, changing behavior with environmental management and a focus on positive reinforcement and reward-based training.
